Luxury cigar manufacturer PuPla Cigars, renowned for its handcrafted creations and the innovative Osele Method, is taking a decisive stand for sustainability and ecological responsibility: The company will officially discontinue the use of traditional wooden cigar boxes from September 2025.
"We believe it's our responsibility not only to craft perfect cigars but also to treat the Earth's resources with the respect they deserve," says Hermann Osele, founder and owner of PuPla Cigars.
An estimated one million trees are cut down annually for the production of wooden cigar boxes - often tropical hardwoods treated with lacquers and chemicals. PuPla takes a different route.
Each cigar is refined and aged in its signature cedarwood tubo, then delivered in elegant, recycled carton packaging - refined, eco-friendly, and completely protective.
This decision also opens new possibilities: PuPla cigars will now be available in units of three, allowing connoisseurs worldwide to experience the brand without compromising quality or exclusivity.
"True luxury needs no box," says Osele. "Our tubos offer perfect protection, ongoing maturation, and a uniquely clean aroma - all without harming the planet."
PuPla Cigars is already considered a trailblazer thanks to its Osele Method, combining scientific precision, artisan craftsmanship, and deep environmental awareness. With this step, the brand redefines what premium cigar production can mean in the 21st century.
